Dr. Craig Russell is a preeminent Cal Poly San Luis Obispo professor of Music whose expertise in historical musicology is specific to the Mission and Mexican eras of early California history.  Dr. Russell was called upon to address a host of questions regarding the role of music and choristers in the California missions, and we here post responses by him to several questions germane to the NEH Landmarks workshop of July 2013.  His comments may be reviewed via the following YouTube.com video links:
